The Mercedes Viano is based on the Mercedes Vito commercial van, but it offers a refined cabin for chauffeur travel. Mercedes supplied it in Compact, Long and Extra Long body sizes. Customers could also choose Trend or Ambient trim. The standard 2-3-3 layout carries up to seven passengers plus the driver.
Alternatively, a 2-2-2 layout provides six individual chairs. The centre row can face backwards for meetings during the journey. All benches and individual seats slide on rails. The crew can also remove them to create a large luggage area. In addition, three diesel engines were available, including a 3.0-litre V6 with 220 bhp.
Comfort for up to seven passengers
The two long-wheelbase versions provide generous legroom, while every body style offers good headroom. The Extra Long Mercedes Viano adds more luggage space behind the rear seats. Comfortable seating and effective sound insulation help passengers relax on airport transfers, business journeys and longer private trips.
Moreover, the limited-edition Avantgarde 125 brought the cabin closer to luxury-car standards. The standard model remains practical for most groups that need flexible seating and useful luggage capacity.
A versatile cabin for chauffeur travel
Twin sliding doors make entry easy and help in tight parking spaces. The standard cabin has two front seats and two sliding three-seat rear benches. Customers can choose individual armchairs instead of either bench. The crew can fit those chairs facing one another to create a mobile meeting area.
The armchairs fold flat to form tables, or the crew can remove them for extra cargo space. Large door pockets and the glovebox store small items. Finally, the roof-hinged tailgate gives useful shelter while the driver loads or unloads luggage.
